Joseph "Joe" Voytko's Obituary
Joseph "Joe" Voytko, 68, of Alliance, died on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 10:15 a.m. at Oakhill Manor in Louisville. He was born on October 8, 1940 in Windber, PA, and lived in Alliance most of his life. A member of Bolton United Methodist Church, he was a 1959 graduate of Alliance High School. Employed at B&W Tubular Plant for many years, he retired as General Foreman. Joe was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. In his past-time, he enjoyed his motorcycle and was a member of the North American 40 Touring Motorcycle Club and the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club. He loved traveling with his wife Judith, and they have traveled most of the United States. Together, they enjoyed country-western music and line dancing. Joe also enjoyed trout fishing in streams of Pennsylvania and was an avid deer hunter. Woodworking and restoring his 1956 Ford was another passion of his. He is survived by his wife, Judith E. (Hunt) Voytko, whom he married on June 17, 1960; two daughters, Jodi L. (Harlan) Clark of Vienna, Ohio and Jennifer E. (James) Duckworth of Louisville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Leigh Anne Fish, Jacob Duckworth and Jordan Ellen Duckworth; a sister, Betty Brown of Alliance; two brothers, Paul (Pat) Voytko of Kansas and Edward (Lynn) Voytko of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Paul Voytko and Barbara (Schuster) Voytko Betz; and a brother-in-law, William Gerald Brown. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon, with Dr. David Bloor, Pastor of Bolton United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
