Joseph Tarnovich's Obituary
Joseph Tarnovich, 89, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 1:05 a.m. at Green Meadows Health & Wellness Center in Louisville. Born on September 6, 1922 in Stratton, OH, he lived in Alliance most of his life, and was a member of the Alliance Church of Christ. A veteran of World War II, he served our country in the U. S. Army Air Corps. Joseph retired from Morgan Engineering after 38 years of service, where he was employed as a welder. Survivors include his two sons, Ron (Susie) Tarnovich of Charlotte, NC and Keith (Myrna) Tarnovich of Defiance; five daughters, Phyllis (Bill) Kibler of Alliance, Susan (Don) Newell of Lawrenceville, GA, Sandy (Joe) Wallenstein of Dacula, GA, Alisa (Dean) Livelsberger formerly of Alliance and Brenda (Donnie) Simmons of Cumming, GA; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Musiolowski of East Liverpool and Margaret Tarnovich of Toronto, OH; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Roena B. (Moore) Tarnovich on February 15, 1994, whom he married on July 22, 1946; his parents, Louis and Alexandria (Tey) Tarnovich; two sisters, Anne Barbareck and Mary Rujak; and five brothers, Louis, Michael, Nick, Donald and John. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, April 28, 2012 , at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Matt Lowe of Alliance Church of Christ officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
