Joseph John Jurovcik's Obituary
Joseph John Jurovcik, Sr., 77, of Alliance, died on Sunday, February 02, 2003, at 1:15 p.m. at his home. Born in Blaine, Ohio on November 16, 1925, he had been a resident of Alliance for most of his life. Mr. Jurovcik was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and had previously served as an Eucharistic Minister. A veteran of World War II, he had served with the U.S. Navy from 1943 - 1952. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 50 for over 50 years. He retired from Alliance Drop Forge after 24 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Irene (Ceraolo) Jurovcik, whom he married on May 26, 1951; children, Joseph J. Jurovcik, Jr. of Kent, Ohio and Christine A. Corrigan of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Justin J. Jurovcik, Joshua M. Jurovcik, Catherine Jurovcik, Andrew Jurovcik, Michael Jurovcik, Molly A. Corrigan and Stephanie R. Corrigan; and a great granddaughter, Miranda Jo Kemme; a sister, Mary Pogan of Blaine, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Steven A. and Anna (Matava) Jurovcik, Sr.; brothers, Steven A. Jurovcik, Jr., John J. Jurovcik, Sr., and Frank X. Jurovcik; and a sister, Anna Musica. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. J. Patrick Manning as celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
