Joseph E. Acierni's Obituary
Joseph E. Acierni, 84, of Alliance, died on Monday, October 29, 2007, at 6:45 a.m. at his home. He was born on July 12, 1923 in Alliance, and lived in Alliance all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A graduate of Alliance High School, he served our country in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Joe had been employed at Tolerton Lumber Co., and was also owner of Acierni Electric. He retired from the Alliance Machine Company after 30 years of service. In his free time, Mr. Acierni enjoyed building and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Letha D. (Tenney) Acierni; three sons, Ronald Acierni of Cincinnati, Gary Acierni of Sandusky and Joseph Acierni of Alliance; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother, Maria C. Acierni of Alliance; and a sister, Erma Zwinner of California. Preceding him in death was his father, Ralph Acierni and a brother, Tony Acierni. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
