John M. Mazzei 's Obituary
John M. Mazzei, 59, of Ravenna, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.
Born on February 13, 1957 in Alliance, Ohio to Peter C. and Katherine M. (Tatu) Mazzei, he lived in Alliance for most of his life and moved to Ravenna to be closer to work.
A 1976 graduate of Alliance High School, John was employed at Viking Forge Corp. in Ravenna since 1999.
John enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, playing computer games and spending time with family & friends.
Survivors include two sisters, Carol Mazzei of Alliance, OH, Mary K. Mazzei of Alliance, OH; brother, Peter C. Mazzei, Jr. of Akron, OH; longtime companion, Sandy Nutter and her children of Ravenna, OH; 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. He was best known as “Pawpa Dog” to her family and known as “Fudgie” to his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were parents, Peter C. and Katherine M. Mazzei.
He will be sadly missed by all. His favorite saying was “You say Bye” and you say “Bye”.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His service and burial will be private.
