John A. "Jack" Madsen's Obituary
John A. "Jack" Madsen, 88, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at 8:40 p.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. A lifelong resident of Alliance, Jack was born on April 30, 1917 and was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. A member of the B.P.O. Elks #467, he was also a former member of the Ohio National Guard. Mr. Madsen retired from Transue & Williams as a foreman with 33 years of service. He is survived by two daughters, Patty (Chick) Sinkovitz of Alliance, and Jackie (Gene) Gluck of Valley City, OH; a son, John C. (Barb) Madsen of Alliance; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Mastroianni of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Rita (Schmitt) Madsen in 1994, they were married on June 17, 1940; his parents, Christian and Marjorie Ann (Vesseriat) Madsen; two sisters, Mary Louise Smith and Marie Carlson; and three brothers, Arthur, William, and Frank Madsen. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, February 3, 2006, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Seifert officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
