John A. Kraft's Obituary
John A. Kraft, 53, of Alliance, died on Monday, December 6, 2004, at 6:40 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Alliance, he was born on November 4, 1951. John was a Vietnam War veteran of the US Army and was a member of the American Legion. He was a produce manager at the former Sparkle Market and was formerly employed at Green Steel. John enjoyed assisting at the family business, the Sugar Shak. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and loved fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He is survived by a daughter, Mindy (Mike) Cannon of Marlboro; a son, Christopher Kraft of Alliance; three grandchildren, Mike Cannon, Matt Cannon, and Maylee Cannon; his mother and step-father, Connie (Betts) and Richard Funk of Alliance; two sisters, Tracy (Joe) Toussant of Alliance, and Jeanine (Adam) Reed of Alliance; two brothers, Larry (April) Kraft of Homeworth and Allan Funk of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Kraft in 1994; his father, Clarence Kraft; his grandparents, Allen and Ethel Betts; and a sister, Victoria Wilson. Calling hours will be at the Southside Church of God on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor David Storlie officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
