John E. Hotchkiss' Obituary
John E. Hotchkiss, 91, of Alliance, died on Sunday, March 9, 2008, at 9:30 p.m. at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. He was born on November 19, 1916 in Alliance and had lived here for all of his life. John was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of First Christian Church. John retired from the B & W Tubular Products, where he was employed as a template maker for 35 years. Mr. Hotchkiss enjoyed painting and traveling with his wife. He is survived by a daughter-in-law and her husband, Carla & John McIntosh of Minerva; three grandchildren, Danielle Hawk, J.D. McIntosh and Brinton McIntosh; three nieces, Kay Marvin of North Ridgeville, Susan Erisey of North Canton, and Peggy Cindia of Gahanna; and one nephew, David Hotchkiss of Alliance. Preceding him in death was his wife, Carolyn E. (Clippinger) Hotchkiss on February 9, 2007, whom he married on May 18, 1941; his son, John E. Hotchkiss; his parents, Jeremiah and Kathryn (Ball) Hotchkiss; a sister, Ruth Hotchkiss; and a brother, Robert Hotchkiss. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the Sue DeHoff of the First Christian Church, officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
