John A. Bericchia's Obituary
John A. Bericchia, 80, of Alliance, died on Sunday, October 31, 2004, at 4:10 p.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. A lifelong Alliance resident, he was born on March 11, 1924. John was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W. #1036. Mr. Bericchia was an architectural draftsman and had been employed at the former Weybrecht Lumber Company, and at Transue & Williams Company. He retired from Egli Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and belonged to the Dante Alighieri Society and to the Christopher Columbus Society. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Mazzei) Bericchia (whom he married on July 6, 1946); two daughters, Holly (Greg) Romano of Columbus and Mary Ann (Ron) Burgess of Alliance; one granddaughter, Ashley Kelly; three sisters, Norma Morettini of Florida, Elsie Dossi and Dorothy Baier, both of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Battista and Orsola (Vecchia) Bericchia; a sister, Velma Zucchero; and one brother, William Bericchia. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery.
