John Benedict's Obituary
John E. Benedict, 91, of Beloit, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 1:14 am at Bel Air Senior Living Community in Alliance.
Born on January 19, 1925 in Minerva, Ohio to Walter and Lydia (Tarbet) Benedict, he lived in Beloit for most of his life.
A 1945 graduate of Alliance High School, he was a trade plumber and was employed by various companies in the Alliance area.
A veteran of World War II, he served our country in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036 and the American Legion, Post 166 in Alliance.
Survivors include two sons, Barry (Bonnie) Benedict of Alliance and Gary Benedict of Beloit; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Garee of Minerva and, Wilma McCammon of Alliance,; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Rita (Arone) Benedict whom he married on November 27, 1951, and who died on December 25, 2006; his parents; three infant children; and two sisters, Nancy Doak and Bonnie Warner.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at Highland Memorial Park. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park. There are no calling hours.
