Joan Wolfe's Obituary
Joan Wolfe, 79, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at 9:05 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Massillon, OH, on May 17, 1925, Mrs. Wolfe was a graduate of Canton Lincoln High School in 1944 and a graduate of a Nursing School from Lorain in 1948. She retired from Los Angeles County General Hospital where she had been a Registered Nurse. She moved to Alliance in 1972 and attended the First Friends Church. Mrs. Wolfe spent much time helping with the Salvation Army and was a member of the Alliance Democratic Club and very active with the elections. She is survived by a special niece and guardian, Nancy L. Blake of Alliance; two nieces, Cynthia S. Boyd of Riverside, CA, and Penny Joan Starnes of New Philadelphia; three nephews, Kenneth W. Blake Sr. of Calcutta, George A. Blake and Roger L. Blake both of Alliance; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wolfe in December 1961(they were married in June of 1960); her parents, Howard E. Boise and May S. (Sneed) Boise; a sister, Eileen (Blake) Huff; a brother Harold E. Boise; and a nephew, Danny H. Blake. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Edwin Moser officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
