Joan Moore's Obituary
Joan M. (Zucchero) Moore, 83, of Alliance, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 6:03 pm at McCrea Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 10, 1930 in Alliance, Ohio and lived in Alliance for all of her life. She was a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School. Joan was a charter member of the Sandhi Club at Alliance High School, which is still in existence after 67 years. Joan previously worked for the former Dimit Brothers Photography & for the former Miller Hoyles Dept. Store. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their Altar & Rosary Society, Past-President of the Women's Guild and had been a previously named Woman of the Year, member of the Mission Group, Sacristy Chairman, Church Christmas Decorating Committee, and the Christmas Boutique. She enjoyed her arts & crafts and especially wood-crafting & painting, with her husband. These crafts were enjoyed by many family members and friends, and were sent all over the US. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Joan is survived by her 3 sons - Ronald (Sally) Moore of Alliance, OH, Randy (Diana) Moore Sr. of Alliance, OH, Rick (Anne-Marie) Moore of Alliance, OH; 2 daughters - Lynn A. Zamagias of Beloit, OH, Marie (Matthew) Trainer of Atwater, OH; son-in-law - Michael J. Zamagias of Alliance, OH; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded by her husband, Edward H. Moore, Jr., whom she married on July 11, 1953 and died on December 4, 2008; parents; John and Mary (Caldroni) Zucchero; 4 sisters, Lena Maxim, Mary Palier, Rose Cozza, and Ida Zucchero; and 2 brothers, Pete Zucchero and Henry Zucchero. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
