Joan E. (Baughman) Graf's Obituary
Joan E. (Baughman) Graf, 85, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 2:25 a.m. at Alterra Sterling House of Alliance. She was born on January 4, 1925 in Alliance, and lived here in Alliance all her life. She was a member of First Christian Church. A graduate of Alliance High School, Joan attended Mt. Union College and studied to be an R.N. at Akron City Hospital. Joan was employed by Alliance Community Hospital as an R.N. and also worked for Dr. David Howell, DDS. In her past-time, she enjoyed big band era dancing, walking through Silver Park and being surrounded by loved ones. She and her late husband were members of the Alliance B.P.O Elks # 467. Survivors include two daughters, Rita (Jay) O Neill of Temecula, CA and Judy (Norm) McCauley of Solon; a son, Craig (Debby) Graf of Meridian, Idaho; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Don Baughman of Pittsburgh, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Gus Graf in May 1997; her parents, Lester and Maude (Sheckler) Baughman; a sister, Doris Krigbaun of CA; and a brother, Dean Baughman. A Memorial Service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with Sue DeHoff of First Christian Church, officiating.
