Jo Ann Kelleher's Obituary
Jo Ann Mary (Haidet) Kelleher died peacefully late afternoon Thursday, June 12, 2025 in Roanoke, Virginia at the age of 96. She was born in Alliance, Ohio on September 6, 1928.
As a high school student, Jo Ann became one of that era’s Rosie the Riveters, working at Taylorcraft in Alliance, building planes during WWII.
A lifelong Buckeye fan, she attended dental hygiene school
at Ohio State University, met the love of her life, Duane and worked as a hygienist to help put him through OSU Law School. After 19 years she returned to dental hygiene to help with their kids’ college tuitions.
Loved by all, she was a truly wonderful Mother, Nana, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and dear friend. She lived out her faith in thought, word and deed. Such an accepting, kind, loving person, Jo Ann gladly tucked family and friends into her prayers and helpful care.
Married to Duane for 65 years, they raised their family in Columbus and spent their retirement years between there and Edgewater, Florida. Their home was a soft landing for all who needed a safe, welcoming place to stay for however long was needed.
Jo Ann is survived by their five children: Kevin (Michelle), Dori Ann Davis (Steve), Brian (Janet), Doug (Teresa), and Susan Golden (Joe), 12 grandchildren whom she dearly loved, 21 great grandchildren, and 36 surviving nieces and nephews. Jo Ann is also survived by her devoted brother, Norm Haidet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Cade and Ralph Nicholas, husband, Duane Joseph (Irish) Kelleher, her brothers, Baby Douglas and Howard, as well as her dear sisters, Dorothy and Marie.
