Jimmie K. Kiser's Obituary
Jimmie K. Kiser, 79, of Alliance, went home to heaven on Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home. Born on March 23, 1934 in Olive Hill, KY, he lived in Alliance most of his life. He had previously served in the National Guard, and then served our country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal; Navy Occupation Service Medal; China Service Medal; United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He retired from the Teledyne Monarch Rubber in Hartville. In his past-time, he enjoyed working with his hands building things to help others, fishing, but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Joanna (Mike) Middleton, Dinna (Dave) Daniels and Keith (Doris) Kiser, all of Alliance; grandchildren, Destiny & Ben, Rebekah & Rob, Isaac, Katie, Mason, Matt and Emily; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah; a sister, Sue (Ernie) Wells of Worthington, KY; brothers, Phillip (Barb) Kiser of Olive Hill, KY, and Tony (Lulabelle) Kiser of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Virgie Bernice (Cooley) Kiser on Oct. 20, 2008; daughter, Kimberly Kiser Barker on Jan. 24, 2008; granddaughter, Sarah Jo Kiser on Aug. 10, 2005; his parents, Culie W. and Catherine (Conley) Kiser; sisters, Jean Raybourn, Oney Reynolds, Brenda Kiser; Nixola Roe, and Sylvia Maggard; brothers, Truman, Norman, Terry Lee, Ray "Shorty", George and Dennis Kiser. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wed., Nov. 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jimmie Holbrook officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
