Jim Unger's Obituary
Jim Unger, 88, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 3:19 pm at his home in Alliance, Ohio. Born on November 30, 1935 in Orton, West Virginia to Bertin and Sarah (Carpenter) Unger, he lived in Alliance for most of his life.
He served our country in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge he also worked for TRW, G and H Fiberglass, Alliance Equipment and retired as a self-employed driver for Roberts Express as a Truck Driver.
Jim loved to watch any Western movie or show he could find, he also enjoyed working outside. However, the most important was spending time with his family.
Besides his parents he was preceded by his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Findling) Unger, whom he married on February 14, 1972 and passed on April 11, 2022.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Unger of AL, Annette (James) Williams of Alliance, OH; two sons, Timothy (Diane) Unger of AL, James (Debbie) Unger of KY; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also proceeded in death by his three brothers, Hobert Unger, Calvin Grant Unger, Willie Unger, and a sister Mary Belle Petroski. Memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s honor to: Til Valhalla Project, 3400 Agricultural Center Dr., Saint Augustine, FL 32092.
