Jerry Korleski's Obituary
Jerry Korleski, 70, of Greentown, died on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 2:25 p.m. at his home. Jerry was born in Alliance on February 13, 1936. Raised in Alliance, he was a graduate of Alliance High School and attended Mt. Union College. He was a US Air Force veteran stationed at Great Falls, Montana as a flight controller. Mr. Korleski was a window designer for Polsky s Dept. Store in Akron for many years and later worked for Newsteaders Dept. Store in Denver, Colorado. After retirement he moved to Greentown. Jerry and Dorothy both enjoyed acting at the Ten Star Theatre in Massillon and were also active with the North Canton Theatre Guild. Mr. Korleski loved animals, especially cats. He was also an avid gardener and loved reading history. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Hafer) Koleski; a brother, Bill Korleski of Canfiled; a brother, Joe Korleski of Columbus; a sister, Kathy Korleski of Greentown; a brother, Jim Koleski of Alliance; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie (Erchick) Korleski; and a niece, Kimi. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, November 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
