Jennie Maria Poteet 's Obituary
Born on April 16, 1972 in Alliance, Ohio to Cliff and Mary Lou On October 4th, 2016, Jennie Maria Poteet had her chains of suffering broken and was called home by Jesus. Throughout her time on earth, Jennie endured many physical challenges, but never let that stop her from her ministry. Her impact on all who knew her was and will be a lesson for how to live our lives. She fought against all odds from the moment she was born until her last peaceful breath. Even though Jennie couldn't communicate; she spoke volumes to those who loved her most.
Jennie was beautiful, funny, intelligent, strong, and unique. She loved to ride in her “Jpo” Limo watching her Tinkerbell videos. She enjoyed directing her Mom and Dad and watching them do whatever she wanted. Jennie also was happy to play the hand game with anyone willing to lend a hand. Playing with light switches, power outages, wiping people off, pushing people away, staying up all night, not sleeping for days, and taking bags from all visitors regardless what was in them, and “tisses” on the forehead ONLY. Jen liked to put on flavored lip gloss and always enjoyed her smellies. The family affectionately referred to her as a “stuffed animal serial killer” as she went through many victims :) which were replaced daily by her niece Alea. Jennie was also a huge Browns fan for some reason. Most of all, the impact Jennie left on our lives was the lesson of unconditional love.
Jennie was greeted in Heaven by her Brubbies Billy Poteet and Kip Craven, Grandparents Arna and Richard Poteet, Allen and Betty Craven, and her most special Grandparents; Karl and Marie (Ciccotelli) Weber. She is survived by her brother David (Dannette) Poteet, her special niece Alea Poteet, Aunt Debbie (Weber) Tenaglia, Uncle Dick (Lynn) Weber, and many other nieces and nephews.
Jennie is also survived by her parents Mary Lou (Weber) and Clifford Craven who gave their entire existence to make sure Jennie would have one. Their unwavering love, care, and support of Jennie will never fully be known or appreciated except by those who saw the compassion in which they took care of their Baby Girl for 44 years. From feedings, to sleeping in shifts on the couch, Jennie's Mom and Dad were her everything.
Special thanks to her best friend LA Lynn, Alliance Hospice Care, Dr. Kanagy, Dr. Mitchell, Premier Health, VNA, Jan Myers, and anyone else who helped support Jennie throughout the years.
“Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones”. Isaiah 49:13
