Jennie Agnew's Obituary
Jennie Agnew, 85, of Mentor, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010, at 7:20 a.m., at LakeMed Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Painesville. She was born on February 26, 1925 in Minerva, and lived in Alliance most of her life. A 1943 graduate of Minerva High School, Jennie retired from Manhattan Dry Cleaners, working for three generations of owners over her 53 years of employment. Mrs. Agnew was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Jennie was good at gardening, sewing & crafting and baking. She also enjoyed spending time with her late husband on their ranch. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Delmas) Schock of Mentor; a son-in-law, Corey Clayton of Sebring; a grandchild, Trisha Schock of Fairport Harbor; a sister, Margaret Gascon of Minerva; a niece Marina Cole; and a nephew, Michael Gascon. Preceding her in death was her husband of 62 years, William Agnew on October 11, 2006, whom she married on August 20, 1944; a daughter, Jennifer Kay Clayton; her parents, Nicholas and Marina (Anghel) Comsia; and two brothers, Carl and Virgil Comsia. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Ovidiu Marginean of St. George Romanian Catholic Church in Canton, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to express their appreciation to the LakeMed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for their care and support.
