Jeannie Rae Lee's Obituary
Jeannie Rae Lee, 78, of Alliance, died on Monday, February 8, 2010, at 11:40 a.m., at her home. She was born on May 27, 1931 in Laurel, MS, and lived in Alliance since 1955. Jeannie graduated from Story City High School in Story City, IA. She also graduated from Mount Union College where she received her Bachelors degree in English Literature and belonged to the Mount Union College Alumni Association. She later completed her graduate work at Kent State University. Mrs. Lee was a teacher for the former Franklin and Morgan schools where she taught special education. Prior to teaching school she worked as a telephone operator in Iowa. She was a member of the St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Sons of Norway and Topps, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and the former den mother for both boy scouts and girl scouts. Jeannie was a wonderful mother and homemaker and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to the southwest and the Carolina s. Survivors include a daughter, Kristi A. Lee of Alliance; a son, John Frederick Lee of Alliance; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Alda (Bill) Davidson of CA; and two nieces and two nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert A. Lee on November 5, 2002, whom she married on September 29, 1951; a daughter, Karen M. Lee; her parents, Ole and Karen Roth; and a brother, Jimmy Streiff. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday, February 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Timothy Muse of St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. There will be no calling hours.
