Jean Wyss' Obituary
Jean Wyss, 84, of Alliance, died on Monday, September 19, 2005, at 1:26 a.m. at Aultman Hospital of Canton. She was born in Lisbon on October 30, 1920, and had lived in the Alliance area most of her life. Mrs. Wyss was a member of the First Christian Church. Jean enjoyed life and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her five children, Woodie Jean Smith of Ellicottville, NY, Heidi Lesnick of Uniontown, Kristina Green of Brecksville, Jeff Wyss of Green, and Jamie Wyss of Massillon; two step-sons, Lee Wyss of Sebring, and Ronald Wyss of North Georgetown; five grandchildren, Dan Smith, Steve Smith, Ryan Green, Chad Green, and Andrew Wyss; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces, Joyce Porter and Peggy Stoll; and two companions, Shelley Weaver and Sherri Weaver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson (Woodie) Wyss on March 9, 1999 (they were married on June 28, 1941); her parents, Chester and Armetta (Adams) Firth; and a brother, Harold Firth. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, September 22, 2005, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Sue DeHoff officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
