Jean O. Gaume's Obituary
Jean O. Gaume, 72, of Alliance, died on Monday, January 20, 2003 at her home. Born in Alliance on April 7, 1930, she had been a resident of the Alliance area all of her life. She retired in 1992 from Bank One where she had been employed for over 35 years. She had been a teller at the downtown Alliance Branch and the 30th Street Plaza Branch in Canton. Bowling played a big part in Jean's life. She was a member of the Alliance Women's Bowling Association and had served as their secretary for 10 years. She was also inducted into the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame. Jean had coached the Youth Bowling League for the past few years and had also bowled in the Senior Olympics and won several Gold Medals. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Dante Alighieri Society and the Alliance Booster Club. Survivors include two sons, David (Barbara) Gaume of Georgetown, TX, and Dennis Gaume of Homeworth; two daughters, Diane Gaume of Manhattan, NY and Dori Gaume of Alliance; two grandchildren, Michael and Alyson Gaume of TX; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, John F. and Kathryn C. (Zaina) Pizzedaz; and a brother, John Pizzedaz, Jr. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, January 23, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, January 24, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
