Janet Gruz's Obituary
Janet Gruz, 81, of Minerva, died on Monday, July 26, 2004 at 10:09 p.m. at her home. Born in Limaville on August 3, 1922, Janet lived for the last 57 years at the family farm in Minerva. Mrs. Gruz was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance and had been the oldest living former volunteer, helping at the rectory for many years. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Maggie Hiltabidle of Orville; her brother, Bernard Hiltabidle of Dalton; and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gruz on March 17, 1975 (they were married on March 14, 1942); her parents, William and Kathleen (Kennedy) Hiltabidle; and a sister, Myrtle Chisler. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and also on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
