James Merle Roose's Obituary
James Merle Roose, 53, of Alliance, died suddenly on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at the Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Alliance on April 29, 1949 he had been a resident of Alliance all of his life and was a graduate of Alliance High School. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S.Army and received the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze stars. The owner of Roose Construction since 1992, he had previously worked for SIA Sancap for 22 years. He was a member of the First Immanuel United Church of Christ, the Roma Society and the Dante Alighieri Society. Survivors include his wife, Sandy (Middleton) Roose, whom he married on December 4, 1969; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Nick Santis of Alliance; a daughter, Tracy Roose of Alliance; four grandsons, Nicholas Santis, Vincent Santis, Mike Santis and Ty Roose; a granddaughter, Giuliana Santis; his mother, Barbara (Cole) Roose of Alliance; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bill Rhodes of Seabrook, New Hampshire; a sister, Sue Grove of Alliance; two nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death was his father, Merle Roose. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 10, 2002, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. with Neal Mann officiating.
