James E. McKinstry 's Obituary
James E. McKinstry, 77, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:30 pm at Community Care Center in Alliance.
Born on November 28, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to Earl and Jessie (Mackey) McKinstry, he lived in Alliance for most of his life.
He graduated from Fairview High School, and then served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War Era.
James was employed as a Chemist Technician for Mobile Chemical in Cleveland and then as lab manager for Stewart Brothers in Alliance. He worked for CCP as a sales manager and finally retired from WalMart after 15 years of service on December 31, 2014.
He attended Pine Lake Christian Church in Sebring.
James enjoyed creating fireworks, was an avid Civil War History Buff, he also enjoyed black powder rifles, cooking and his beloved dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Karen L. (Schildt) McKinstry, whom he married on June 26, 1994; his son, James L. McKinstry of Carnegie, PA; his daughter, Debbie Cranston of Sebring; and four grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, Faith and Grace; and numerous cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Andrew McKinstry; and his first wife, Gretchen McKinstry, mother of his sons.
Friends may call on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
