James L. McCallum's Obituary
James L. McCallum, 84, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012, at 2:02 a.m. at McCrea Manor. He was born on November 15, 1927 in Alliance and lived in Alliance all of his life. He was a 1945 graduate of Alliance High School and shortly afterwards had enlisted in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Alliance Church of Christ and retired from the Bonfert Glass Company after 33 years. Mr. McCallum was a member of the American Legion, Post 166 and the Washington Township Historical Society. In his past-time, he enjoyed playing the Mandolin. He is survived by his wife, Wilda (Milbaugh) McCallum whom he married on August 15, 2001; a daughter, Karen McMaster of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; a son, David J. McCallum of Columbus, OH; three grandsons, James, Christopher & Andrew; a great-granddaughter, Mikayla; a sister, Sara (William) Wilson; two brothers, William McCallum and Jerry (Mary Kay) McCallum; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Marjorie Jean (Wallace) McCallum on November 26, 1993; his parents, John and Hannah A. (Knoll) McCallum; and two sisters, Helen Malone and Lois McCallum. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, August 9, 2012, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
