James A. "Jimmy" Hughes 's Obituary
James A. “Jimmy” Hughes, 82, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 4:10 pm with his children and family at his side.
Born on October 17, 1932 in Alliance, to James S. and Rose V. (Favazzo) Hughes, he lived in Alliance for most of his life.
James was owner of Jimmy's Quality Cars and Jimmy’s Subs and More.
He was a member of the Dante Alighieri Society, the William Penn Club, and the V.F.W. Post 1036.
James loved auctions and collecting coins and antiques.
Survivors include two sons, Michael G. Hughes of Alliance, and Joey J. Hughes of Indialantic, FL; daughter, Rochelle A. Armour of Alliance; five Grandchildren, Quinlynn, Savannah, Alexis, Alayna, and Noel; sister, Barbara Sue (Tim) Peters of Homeworth; a brother, Jack Hughes of Alliance; several nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.
Preceding him in death was his companion, Diane Boone; his ex-wife, Barbara A. Hughes; his parents; two sisters, Jean Agnew and Mary Ann Battagalia; two brothers, William and George Hughes; and his beloved dog, Missy.
The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. His Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Jimmie Holbrook, of Alliance Freewill Baptist Church, officiating.
