James A. Green's Obituary
James A. Green, 82, husband, father and grandfather died January 1, 2004, at Alliance Community Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born April 11, 1921, to Wilbur and Nina Green and spent most of his life in the Marlboro area. He graduated from Marlboro High School and attended the University of Nebraska while serving in the Army Medical Corp. He is survived by his eleven children, 24 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Helen (Wood) and an infant son, Michael. Jim worked for 18 years as a machinist at Bliss in Canton and 20 years as a Sears repairman retiring in 1985. He will be fondly remembered for his love of books, jazz, the blues, and for his wry sense of humor. A Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2004, at 11 :00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Harrisburg. There will be no calling hours. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
