James Maurice Devine's Obituary
James Maurice Devine, 78, of Alliance, died on Thursday, December 19, 2002, at 1:57 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Salem, West Virginia on August 7, 1924, he had lived in the Alliance area most of his life. Mr. Devine retired from the Eljer Industries of Salem as an enameller. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army and also served with the West Virginia State Guard. Survivors include two brothers, Carson Alan Pat and Jean (Rollins) Devine of Clarksburg, WV and William P. and Wilma Lou (Pratt) Devine of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Norma J. Scott and a brother Robert L. Devine. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, December 22, 2002, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2002. at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gordon Ruggles of Union Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
