James P. Coco's Obituary
James P. Coco, 86, died on Friday, August 8, 2003, at 8:30 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Born in Alliance on April 14, 1917, a son of Charles and Carmella Coco, he was a life resident of the Alliance and a graduate of Alliance High School. James was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was an active member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, a life member of the Elks Lodge, the American Legion and the Dante Alighieri Society. Mr. Coco was a longtime Manager of the former Super Center and had retired from Robertson Heating & Supply Co. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Gelmini) Coco of 63 years, they were married on Sept. 11, 1940; a son, James N. (Carrie) Coco of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Janice Marie (Hugh Caffey) Coco of Portland, Oregon; granddaughter, Jennifer Marcotte of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons, Bruce Scott Matowitz of Phoenix, Arizona and Patrick Coco of Tucson Arizona; great- grandsons, Christopher Marcotte, and Patrick James Coco; two sisters, Lena Webber of Salem, Ohio and Mary Gibbon of Hemet, California; three brothers, John Coco and Anthony Coco, both of Alliance and Nunzio Coco of Sacramento, California. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, August 11, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. Burial, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
