Jack A. Rhodes' Obituary
Jack A. Rhodes, 82, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 9:21 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on May 24, 1930 in Penninsula, OH, he lived in Alliance all of his life. A veteran of Korean War, he served our country in the U. S. Army, and was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 50. He retired from Sarchione s, where he was employed as an auto body repairman. In his past-time, he enjoyed traveling and working on cars out of his garage. Survivors include three daughters, Amy J. Freda of Cuyahoga Falls, Vickie Croston of Perry, Chris Rhodes of Canton; seven sons, Greg (Sally) Kocher of Alliance, Kevin Kocher of Alliance, Dale (Sara) Rhodes of Massillon, Mike Rhodes of Alliance, Shawn (Shannon) Rhodes of Alliance, Keith Rhodes of Canton and Jeff Rhodes of Canton; seven grandchildren, Amanda Hess, Alyssa Freda, Cody Rhodes, Tamara Rhodes, Paige Hartman, Larry Hartman, and Shawn Rhodes, Jr.; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen "Butch" Rhodes of CA and Donald "Tom" Rhodes of Canton; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Maxine Hazel "Max" (Salisbury) Rhodes on February 22, 2004, whom he married on May 5, 1960; son, Dennis Allen Rhodes on May 3, 1973; his parents, Dennis and Oma (Shaffer) Rhodes; sisters; and brothers. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Anthony Mayle of Canton Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
