Jack A. Montague's Obituary
Jack A. Montague, 74, of Alliance, died on Saturday, January 4, 2003, at 1:40 a.m. at the Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Alliance on March 2, 1928, he had lived in Alliance all of his life. A self employed plasterer, he was the owner of the former Virginia's Day Care Center. He attended Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks. Survivors include his wife, Virginia E. (Akins) Montague, whom he married on March 20, 1965; a daughter, Jackie Covert of Antioch, IL; a son, Randy Montague of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two step- daughters, Rita Swanson of Forestville, CT and Linda Smith of Sheffield Lake; five step-sons, Pat Ramsey of Alliance, Donald Ramsey of Orlando, FL, Gary Ramsey of Ft. Smith, AR, Richard Ramsey of Ft. Smith, AR and Thomas Ramsey of Brooksville, FL; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; two sisters, Melba Owens of Mansfield and Donna Blue of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mark R. and Altonia E. (Bacon) Montague; and a brother Ronald Montague. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 7, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dean F. Lewis, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
