Jack L. McDaniel's Obituary
Jack L. McDaniel, 91, of Grove City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 am at his home in Grove City, Ohio.
Born on July 15, 1931 in Alliance, to Gerald E. and Sarah (Martin) McDaniel, he lived in Grove City for the past 33 years.
Jack was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Grove City.
A 1949 graduate of Alliance High School, he also attended Miami University of Ohio.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served our country in the U.S. Air Force.
He was an accountant and comptroller for forty plus years for many companies in the Alliance and Grove City Areas.
He was a member of Grove City B.P.O. Elks.
Jack was an avid reader, enjoyed tennis, working outdoors and gardening, and was an Ohio State and Cleveland Browns Fan.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret A. (Schindly) McDaniel, whom he married on December 31, 1955; five daughters, Patty (Bill) Hall of Rio Rancho, NM, Kathy Crane of Columbus, Deborah (Tyler) Harlan of Alliance, Judy (Rob) Gibson of Atwater, and Amy (Kirk) Ritzenthaler of Hillard; five sons, Michael (Nelly) McDaniel of Houston, TX, Chris McDaniel of Alliance, Brian (Joanne) McDaniel of Grove City, Tom (Sandra) McDaniel of El Centro, CA, and Jeff (Susan) McDaniel of Alliance; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister Karen (Keith) Awalt of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Doris Casey and Sandra Bandy; and two brothers, Gerry McDaniel and Ronald McDaniel.
The family will receive friends and family for the viewing on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, with Rev. G. David Weikart, as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
