Jack L. Hughes' Obituary
Jack L. Hughes was taken home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 16, 2016. He passed away at his home, surrounded by his daughters and grandchildren.
Born on August 25, 1939, Jack lived a life full of fun and excitement, and created a family who will miss him very deeply, but have been left with endless memories and stories to tell.
Jack worked hard his entire life, retiring from Transue and Williams, and always having a project on the side. He loved motorcycles and Cadillacs, and was happiest when he was on the beach in Ocean City and planning to go out for crab legs.
Jack is survived by four daughters who thought the world of him, Traci Ruhl, Kate Rhome, Angel McIlvain and Carolyn Hughes, and son in laws who he was so proud of, Kenny Ruhl and Rick Rhome. He also leaves behind seven granddaughters, Patricia and Angel Ruhl, Sara (Ruhl) Leon, Jacqui and Erica Rhome, and Niki and Kady McIlvain; four great-grandsons; his sister, Barbara Sue Peters; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved.
He has several loved ones preceding him in death and who were waiting to see him again, including his father and mother, James S. and Rose V. (Favazzo) Hughes; his three brothers, Billy Hughes, George Hughes and Jimmy Hughes; and two sisters, Jeanie Agnew and Mary Angelina Battaglia.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Rev. Barritt Durbin, Chaplain for Absolute Hospice, officiating.
Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Online condolences can be given at www.sharerfuneralhome.com.
