Isabell M. Bates' Obituary
Isabell M. Bates, 85, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at 6:15 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Mrs. Bates was born in Cecil, Pennsylvania, on December 21, 1919 and lived in Alliance since 1950. Dancing was one of her favorite past times and she enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and was a member of the former Monday Night Ramblers Card Club. She is survived by; four daughters, Elsie (Charles) Virden, of East Palestine, Valorie (Roger) Roessler, of North Jackson, Alberta (Gerald) McPherson and Myrna (Roger) Dulaney, both of Alliance; four sons, Roy (Terri) Bates Jr., Leonard (Sabrina) Bates, Donald Bates, and Albert Bates, all of Alliance; thirty-eight grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Jane DiGiovanni, of Weirton, WV, Donna Mae Baker, of Chester WV, and Delores Baker, of Georgetown, PA; one brother, Isadore Monseau, of Burgettstown, PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Bates on October 22, 1981(they were married on June 12, 1937); an infant daughter, an infant son; a granddaughter, Tina McPherson; her parents, Isadore Herbert and Mary (Spencer) Monseau; three sisters, Blanche Bristol, Alberta Yates and Katherine Craig; and a brother, Albert Monseau. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Roger Dulaney, officiating. Burial will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
