Irma Rose Montesano's Obituary
Irma Rose (Antonacci) Montesano, 91, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 9:35 am at Canterbury Villa of Alliance in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on December 29, 1934 in Springfield, Illinois to Alfonso and Diletta (Ursini) Antonacci, she lived in Alliance most of her life.
Irma was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, the former Regina Coeli Altar and Rosary Society, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Aux, and the Christopher Columbus Society.
She graduated from the Ursilin Academy in Springfield, IL and was the owner and operator of Montesano Upholstery for 25 years.
Irma enjoyed traveling, sewing, embroidery, and ceramics.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Michael George Montesano; two daughters, Mary Lynn (Matthew) Soehnlen of Florida and Nancy (Dominic) Reda of Canton; her son, Thomas (Lisa) Montesano of Alliance; eight grandchildren, Dominic Reda, Anthony Reda, Charles Soehnlen, Joseph Soehnlen, Cody Soehnlen, Christopher Montesano, Thomas Montesano and Rosie Montesano; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; four sisters; and six brothers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Rev. Bob England officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
