Irene H. Swiergos' Obituary
Irene H. Swiergos, 90, formerly of Alliance, died on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 2:45 p.m. in Williamsville, NY. She was born on December 23, 1917 in Toledo, and lived in Alliance most of her life. Mrs. Swiergos was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Irene retired from the Alliance Manufacturing Company, where she was employed as an assembler. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Catholic Women s Club. Survivors include a daughter, Janice A. Cattarin of Endwell, NY; a son, Duane J. Swiergos of Williamsville, NY; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Kenneth Swiergos on December 4, 1998, whom she married on April 10, 1937; a daughter-in-law, Emma Swiergos; a son-in-law, Robert Cattarin; her parents, Frank and Lottie (Kapturski) Krzyminski; a sister, Sally Polakovic; a brother, Edward Krzyminski. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
