Inez Jane Lukez's Obituary
Mrs. Inez "Jane" Lukez, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 12:45 a.m. at Speret Hall, Altercare of Alliance. She was 84 yrs. old. Jane was born in Mannington, West Virginia on August 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Ira Gordon Satterfield and Margaret Fluharty Satterfield. Jane was a 1947 graduate of Mannington High School and a 1951 graduate of St. Mary s School of Nursing in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Jane practiced as a registered nurse at Akron General Hospital, Akron, Ohio. On September 21, 1963 she married pediatrician, Dr. Frank A. Lukez, at St. Bernard s Catholic Church in Akron and subsequently moved to Alliance, Ohio. Jane will be remembered for her unparalleled patience, selfless acts of kindness, charity work, and beautiful spirit. She was known and loved by several generations of children and parents in Alliance who were taken care of by "Doc" in over 40 years of medicine. She was a humble person who acted as a caregiver for many. Jane had a passion for helping others including children, the elderly, and animals. She was the neighborhood mom; her home knew no stranger. Her beautiful soul was as far reaching as the West Virginia Mountains in which she grew up. Jane treasured her children and grandchildren above all else and was fulfilled in her role as an amazing mother and "Nana". Jane is survived by four daughters, Mary (Yancy) Gore of Paonia, CO, Margaret (Paul) Rohart of Palm Harbor, FL, Christina Lukez of Carbondale, CO, and Elizabeth (Joel) Bartis of Charlotte, NC; a son, Frank (Shannon) Lukez of Morgantown, WV; eight grandchildren, Tell, Tess, Olwyn, Rowan, Bronwyn, Nathan, Joshua and Jacob; her beloved identical twin sister, Iris Lane Harper of Spring Lake, MI; nieces Caroline and Jane; nephews Paul, Rudy, Andre, John, Michael, Mark; and brother-in-laws, Branislav Lukez of Broadview Hts, OH and Rudolph Lukez of Kirtland, OH. Preceding her in death was her devoted husband, Dr. Frank A. Lukez; daughter, Martha Lukez; her parents Ira and Margaret Satterfield; and her sisters Merle Hayes and Mable Carroll. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church for immediate family. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
