Ida Mae Rowe's Obituary
Ida Mae Rowe, 87, of Alliance, died on Monday, January 12, 2009, at 10:40 p.m. at Crandall Medical Center. She was born on April 18, 1921 in Greasy Creek, KY, and lived in Alliance since 1950. She was a member of the Home Mission Church. Her family would say "my mom made her church her life," she loved traveling to church meetings, etc. She is survived by six daughters, Lavonia "Lee" (Emil) Mathison of Marysville, Ada (Willard) Stout of North Benton, Violet (Barry) Landwert of Alliance, Mary (Steve) Settle of Hobe Sound, FL, Joyce (Roberts Hicks) Miller of Aurora and Debra (Michael) Leonard of Bowling Green; five sons, Estill "Pete" (Sue) Rowe of Alliance, Sam Rowe of North Benton, William (Coleen) Rowe of Clarington, Warren (Janet) Rowe of Brookville, PA and Charles (Tammy) Rowe of Lexington, NC; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Rowe of Sebring; 36 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sophie Ducharme of Alliance, Merkie Crisp of Cattletsburg, KY and Minnie Lane of DeLand, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Homer Rowe on August 10, 1993, whom she married on June 6, 1939; a son Joseph Rowe; her parents, Joseph and Ada (McCoin) Laney; a sister, Lula Laney; and seven brothers, Jack, Claude, Sam, Allen, Ted, Warren and Fred Laney. Private services and calling hours will be held. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
