Howard J. Duvall 's Obituary
Howard J. Duvall, 87, of Deerfield, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, at 5:30 am at his home in Deerfield.
Born on August 15, 1928, in Atwater, Ohio to Howard and Nellie (Mangus) Duvall, he lived in Deerfield for most of his life and was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
A veteran of WWII, he served our country in the U.S. Army / Air Force.
Howard was employed at Deerfield Post Office as a Mail Carrier and retired after 32 years of service.
He was a member of and had been a volunteer with the Deerfield Fire Department, Deerfield Township Trustee, Deerfield American Legion, and the Ohio State Patrol Auxiliary.
Howard was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #558, and was an Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance.
Survivors include seven children, Fred Duvall of Deerfield, Elaine Harner of Tallmadge, Marsha (Michael) Graening of Atwater, Linda (George) Shuma of Meriden, CT, Mary Jane Duvall of Alliance, Connie Ann (Thomas) Wade of Massillon, and Frank (Jane) Duvall of Randolph; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sally Kristoff of WA; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his loving wife, Elaine E. (Tkacs) Duvall, whom he married on August 30, 1950 and passed away on June 11, 2014; his parents; two sisters, Alice Everitt and Betty Welker; a brother, John Edward Duvall; granddaughter, Erin Duvall; son-in-law, Chuck Harner.
A Private Memorial Service with military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
