Hilda J. Conti's Obituary
Hilda J. Conti, of Alliance, died on Monday, October 9, 2006, at 9:50 a.m. at Alliance Community Care Center. Mrs. Conti was born in Palmyra, Ohio, and lived in the Alliance area most of her life. Hilda graduated from Mount Union College in 1934 with a BS degree and received her teaching certificate in elementary education from Kent State University in 1936. Mrs. Conti was a teacher for 2 years with Alliance City Schools and taught English and Honors Reading for 20 years at Marlington. She retired from Banco Die, Inc., where she was employed as a secretary for 23 years. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Anne (Allen) Green of Alliance; her son, Mark A. Conti of Alliance; seven grandchildren, Mark E. Conti, Steven M. Conti, Karen Hines, Rhonda Terry, Deborah Brown, Suzanne Kile, and Tom Green; a sister, Erma Shaffer of Lebanon, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Conti in March 1992, (whom she married on December 22, 1937); a grandson, David A. Conti; her parents, Thomas and Bertha (Lorius) Jones; and a brother; Thomas Jones. Memorial services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Hartman officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
