Helen Ann Youtz's Obituary
Helen Ann Youtz, 54, of Alliance, died on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 3:40 a.m., at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on June 1, 1953 to Charles and Mary Ann Nimereala in Alliance, and lived in Alliance all of her life. A 1971 graduate of Alliance High School, she was active in the marching band, the orchestra and the choir, and was a delegate to Buckeye Girls State.
Helen was also a graduate of the Hanna E. Mullins School of Nursing in Salem where she received her LPN degree and the award for Best All Around Nurse. Helen was previously involved in the Alliance Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and sang with the Alliance Chorale. Throughout her career, Helen was employed at Alliance Community Hospital, Bel Air Care Center, Hutton Nursing Center, Dr. Joseph Iwano's Office from 1973 -1988, and most recently had been employed at NEOUS, North Eastern Ohio Urology Surgeons, working with Dr. Black, Dr. Stiff, Dr. Scolieri and fellow co-workers whom she loved very much. Helen enjoyed gardening, shopping, and especially enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jay Youtz, whom she married on October 18, 1975; two sons, Nicholas Youtz of Miami, FL and Andrew Youtz of Alliance; her mother, Mary Ann Nimereala of Alliance; two sisters, Karen Nimereala of New York, NY and Connie Nimereala of Indianapolis, IN; two nephews, Brian Verminski of New York, NY and Mathew Verminski of Boston, MA; and many others that considered her as their aunt.
Preceding her in death was her father, Charles Nimereala and her grandparents, Nick and Helen Sandru.
The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and also on Saturday, February 16, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
