Helen L. Harshman's Obituary
Helen L. Harshman, 87, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2006, at 12:30 p.m. at Altercare of Alliance. Helen was born in Morgantown, WV, on February 22, 1919, and lived most of her life in Alliance. Mrs. Harshman was a longtime member of the former Perry Street Community Church. She had been employed as a buyer at the former Murphy s Department Store in Alliance. Helen is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. (Ted) Rice of Ravenna; a son, Thomas P. (Patty) Harshman of Canton; six grandchildren, Jon Harshman of Canton, Thomas Harshman, Jr., of Canton, Kimberly (Harshman) and Carmine Ricchetti of Canton, Dan Rice of Alliance, Randy (Tammi) Rice of Ravenna, and Michelle (Rice) and Thad Hardman of Alliance; six great-grandchildren, Amy Hardman, Angel Hardman, Andrew Hardman, all of Alliance, Isabella and Gabriella Ricchetti, both of Canton, and Bethany Rice of Ravenna; two sisters, Bette Kovac and Lula Kathryn Shuttleworth, both of Morgantown, WV; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Harshman on April 4, 1994 (they were married on September 3, 1938); and her parents, Harry and Leeta (Wilson) Hutchison. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 30, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Sams of the Alliance Evangelical Friends Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
