Helen Dolores (Deltondo) Cercone's Obituary
Helen Dolores (Deltondo) Cercone, 95, of Alliance, OH and formerly of Aliquippa, PA, died on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at 9:55 a.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. She was born on July 7, 1915 in McKees Rocks, PA to Fulgenzio and Theresa (Tessicino) Deltondo. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William F. Cercone whom she married on November 14, 1940 and who died on February 16, 1976; brothers, Albert and Vincent Deltondo; and sister, Anna Wilson. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Funtastics and Regina Coeli Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a former member of St. Titus Catholic Church in Aliquippa, The Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America. Helen retired as the head cook at Aliquippa Hospital, was a talented seamstress, known for her exceptional culinary skills, enjoyed singing and was especially proud of her Italian heritage. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who dearly loved her family. Survivors include her daughters, Marie (Jack) Hemer of Cranberry Twp., PA, Marlene (John) Admonius of Alliance, OH and Alisa (Bill) Schell of Economy Borough, PA; grandchildren, Michael, David and Robert D Atri, Eric (Jasmine) Schell and Megan Schell, step-grandchildren, Rick (Lana) Hemer and Tom (Heidi) Hemer; five great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Josephine Sinesio of Poland, OH, Catherine Amery of Pittsburgh, PA and Lee Land of Bethel Park, PA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends will be received at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, August 5, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, Rev. Msg. James Kolp and Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert as con-celebrants. A family luncheon will be held at the Schwartz Center with interment following at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Aliquippa, PA. Our family wishes to thank the staff of Canterbury Villa for their loving and compassionate care given to Helen.
