Hazel Marie Tennis' Obituary
Hazel Marie Tennis, 69, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on November 12, 1942 in Akron, OH, she was a 1960 graduate of Lake High School. She had lived in the Hartville and Alliance areas for all of her life. Mrs. Tennis was a dedicated member of the Saxon Lodge, Branch #8, and had served as Vice-President. She also was a former Secretary-Treasurer for the Saxon Bowlers and had been a Trustee for the Traveling Saxon Bowling League. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, the Dante Alighieri Society, the Alliance Sports Boosters and the Louisville Eagles. Hazel enjoyed photography, bowling, playing card & board games and crossword puzzles. However, her most enjoyment came from making people smile. But her family & friends were most important to her, attending her grandkids games & programs, and they affectionately called her "Paparazzi". Survivors include her husband, Francis "Paul" Tennis, whom she married on November 24, 1962; two daughters, Terri Lyn (Greg) Jones of Alliance and Lisa Marie (Clint) Higgins of Sebring; two sons, William "Paul" Tennis of Alliance and Steven Clifford Tennis & companion Amy Reinhart of Alliance, OH; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Harry Davis & companion Linda South of Macedonia, OH and David Leigh (Susan) Davis of Hartville, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, William H. and Edith Ina (Davis) Davis. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Her funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Timothy Muse of St. Paul s Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Alliance City Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
