Hazel E. Baker's Obituary
Hazel E. Baker, 86, of Alliance, died on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 4:32 p.m. at her home. She was born on December 8, 1922 in Alliance and lived here for all of her life. She was a graduate of Alliance High School. Hazel was a member of the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the V. F. W. Auxilary and a life member of the Roma Society, where she was a former manager. She was the owner of the former Derf s Supper Club. In her past-time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards and watching game shows on TV. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and especially loved spending time with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Morris of Parma Heights, Linda Baker of Alliance and Peggy (Andy) Zufall of Alliance; three sons, Jack (Char) Whitaker of Spanaway, WA., Robert (Nancy) Whitaker of Alliance and Bud (Janis) Baker of Canton; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith Burger of Chino Valley, AZ; a brother, Clyde Maloney of Alliance; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Preceding her in death was her husband, Wm. F. "Fred" Baker on March 9, 1980, whom she married on May 3, 1947; her parents, William and Ruth (Hill) Maloney; two sisters, Verna Harris and Ida Mae Maloney; and five brothers, Fredrick "Fritz", Lee, Neal, Robert and Darrell Maloney. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 7 - 9 p.m., and also on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, from 10 - 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., with Dave Sines officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
