Harry A. Burkey's Obituary
Harry A. Burkey, 67, beloved husband of Georgene "Sheen" Burkey, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 15, 2013. He was born in Ravenna, Ohio on October 13, 1945 to George and Nita Burkey. Harry was a loving father and grandfather. He was a lifetime Deerfield resident and graduate of Southeast High School. He served our country in Korea with the U. S. Army and was employed for 27 years as a millwright for PTC Alliance. Harry enjoyed deer hunting, riding his golf cart and spending time with his grandchildren. Survived by his loving wife of nearly 44 years, Sheen, sons Jeffrey and Robert (Catherine) of Deerfield, daughter Krissy (Robert) O'Sullivan of Queen Creek, AZ, cherished grandchildren Kendra, Jared and Rylan, brothers William Richard (Elaine) and George of Deerfield, Frank (Nancy) of Marlboro, sisters Phyllis (Jay) Coss of Newton Falls, Glenda (William) Richards of Palmyra, Linda (Dave) Salmen of Deerfield, Louella (John) Jackson of Maple Heights, Margie Monbarren of Florida, Susie (Jack) Lewis of North Benton, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Nita Burkey, brothers Donald, Charles and Robert, sister Alice May, and mother and father-in-law Betty and Carroll Smith. Harry will be honored at a memorial service which will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
