Harry H. Agnew's Obituary
Harry H. Agnew, 73, of Alliance, was pronounced Sunday, April 15, 2012 in the Alliance Community Hospital Emergency Room. Born on June 12, 1938 in Alliance, where he lived most of his life and was a graduate of Alliance High School. Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the Army National Guard. Harry retired from General Motors in Lordstown, where he was employed as an assembler. Mr. Agnew was a member of V.F.W. Post #1036 and the American Legion Post #166. In his past-time, he enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns, going fishing and gambling at Mountaineer. Survivors include his six children, Franklin Presley, Jr. of Alliance, Victoria (Garry) Marx of N. Benton, Deborah Coe of Alliance, Thomas Presley of Alliance, Joann (Jeff) Fullerton of Sebring and James Presley of N. Benton; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a sister, Audrey Leasure of Hanoverton; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Jean (Hughes) Presley Agnew on February 23, 2010, whom he married on August 31, 1970; his parents, Harold Harry and Hazel (Williams) Agnew; a sister, Alice Henry. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. His funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Military honors will be provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1036. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
