Harold E. Starkey's Obituary
Harold E. Starkey, 85, of Sebring, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 9:10 am at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.
Born on April 20, 1938 in Canton, to Henry and Venetia (Johnson) Starkey, he lived in Alliance most of his life.
A graduate of Louisville High School, Harold was a member of Paris Israel Church.
Harold served our country in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was a hog and grain farmer for 25 years and was then employed at Biery Cheese Company in maintenance for 24 years.
He was a past member of Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Washington Ruritans. He was also a former member of Stark County Farm Bureau, board member of Soil and Water Conservation, and the Production Livestock.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lynn (Case) Starkey, whom he married on September 9, 1994; three sons, Jerry (Jaci) Starkey of Plain City, Gene Starkey of London, and Brian Starkey of Paris; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Salsbury of Parma and Connie (Tom) Bradshaw of Michigan; a brother, David (Linda) Starkey of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his two brothers, Paul and Gilbert Starkey.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Alan Lamb, of Paris Israel Church officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
