Harold E. Reckner's Obituary
Harold E. Reckner, 71, of Alliance, died on Friday, December 19, 2003, at 8:55 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on June 27, 1932, in Swanton, MD, he had been a resident of Alliance for the past 50 years. Mr. Reckner was employed at the Alliance Machine Co., for 25 years before owning and operating Harold's Body Shop in Canton until 1995. He was presently employed by Giant Eagle in Louisville. Harold cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He also loved cars and working on them, enjoyed deer hunting, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He is survived by two daughters, Joann (Ray) Haynes of Louisville and Mary Lou (Phillip) Ganni of Alliance; two grandchildren, Shawn E. Haynes of Canton and Jody L. Haynes of Louisville; sister, Olive Groves of Swanton, MD; one brother, Richard Reckner of Swanton, MD; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Patches. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Hinebaugh) Reckner on October 7, 2003 (they were married on August 16, 1951); a daughter, Sandra Jean Reckner; his parents, Robert and Louise (Beckn1an) Reckner; a sister, Eloise Wensel; and a brother, Robert Reckner. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 22, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Craig Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Marlboro Cemetery.
